Alan Mascord Design Associates is proud to serve our community. In September 2005 AMDA donated construction drawings for house plan# 2174B to Canyonview Camp for a fund-raising project that began in October. So far the house has been framed, and the roof and siding are on. The plumbing, electrical, and heating have been roughed in, and the insulation and sheet rock has been installed. What remains to be completed is the painting of the interior, the installation of doors and cabinets, the finish work, and the floor coverings.

The house, built with donations, will be sold this summer. The profits will help support the summer camps and retreats program in Silverton, OR. To volunteer or for more information on this program contact Canyonview Camps at 503-873-8296.

Alan Mascord Design Associates Releases the Harrisburg

Alan Mascord Design Associates is proud to present the Harrisburg, plan number 1412, for general release. With todays advances in technology and changes in the family dynamic, some homes need to be more than just after-work and weekend retreats. This crisp rambler typifies the multifunctional home. The floor plan serves on many different levels, beginning with ideal office and studio space for work-at-home professionals. The office, located off the gallery from the foyer, features double-door privacy, built-ins, and a next-door bath. For further separation and privacy, a studio is located next to a covered porch at the end of a family and game room wing.
Entertaining space flows from the open foyer to the sunken living room and to the formal dining room. Built-ins, light and display shelves, and a fireplace are pleasing to behold. For informal needs, a family and game-room space flows off the kitchen and breakfast nook. The fun of a family gathering can quickly spread outdoors onto a covered porch off the game room, where a fireplace and space for a built-in barbecue grill await.
A wing on the opposite side of the home caters to children. Three childrens bedrooms surround an open play space, where toys can be contained and where children can conveniently watch a movie before bedtime. The master suite is down the hall and includes a massive walk-in closet, walk-in shower, and spa tub.

Alan Mascord Design Associates Upcoming Plans - the Toussaint

Alan Mascord Design Associates will soon be releasing the Troussaint - plan 2446. Unapologetically French Provincial, this homes hip rooflines stand majestically over its stucco and board-and-batten sheathing. Indicative of the style, a sentinel of second-story arched windows breaks through the cornice into the roof while the main-floor windows and shutters extend to ground level. Carriage-style garage doors are fitting on the recessed garage, which appears as more of a historic outbuilding than an appendage.
The floor plan is wrought with tasteful detail. The foyer introduces views of a circular staircase and the formal living and dining rooms. A rustic and cozy theme in both rooms is accomplished through criss-cross ceiling beams, one forming square patterns and one forming triangular shapes.
The kitchen, breakfast nook, and family room join together in an ell at the rear of the plan. Strategically, the kitchen is close to many key areas of the floor plan: it is near the laundry room and mudroom, which connect to the garage wing; it accesses a butlers pantry that services the formal dining room, and it is open to the breakfast nook and family room, so conversations can flow and children easily can be supervised.
Two main-level suites are on opposite ends of the floor plan. The master suite is at the rear-off a hallway that leads past a quiet study. Bookshelves line the corridor that leads into the bedroom. Double doors open to the bathroom, which includes a spacious tub, walk-in shower, dual vanities, and a large walk-in closet. A self-contained mothers suite is at the front of the plan. A kitchenette contained within the bedroom allows the guest to prepare light dishes, if desired. A full bath and front courtyard adjoin the suite.
Three secondary bedrooms on the upper level revolve around an open study/sitting area off the central staircase. A spacious exercise room rounds out the upper level.
